The Newland Christian Centre

The Newland Christian Centre is a local church community centre, providing meeting rooms  and office space. Conveniently located in a row of popular shops on a busy major road in Hull, it is used regularly by St John Newland church, which backs on to the property, as well as local community groups.

The Centre provides a welcoming environment for a range of activities for people of all ages and from all backgrounds.

The Trust has embarked on an ambitious building project to enlarge the Centre to meet increased demand. We have purchased the former HSBC bank next door to the Centre and plan to knock the two buildings together to make one large, integrated Centre with flexible accommodation for larger groups and a wider range of activities.

Details of St John's activities activities currently taking place in the Centre can be found on the church's website. They include:

  • Mini-Music for tots and their parents/carers
  • English as a Second Language classes
  • Student cafes
  • Womens's meetings
  • Wednesday at 10 club for retirees
  • Mark 2 teenagers' club
  • Knit & Chat
  • Worship services for Congolese refugees

Other groups which use the Centre include:

  • Hull Chess Club
  • Brownies
  • Rainbows

The Centre is available for hire to local organisations. Please contact us if you would like to make use of its facilities.
